About

“[People] love to wonder, and that is the seed of science”  – Ralph Waldo Emerson.

the Seeds of Science is written and edited by graduate students in the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Department at the University of Toronto.  We write mostly about the science that is happening in our immediate neighbourhood – one desk over, in the next office, down the hall.  But sometimes we scribble about what it is like to be studying science; what it feels to be stuck behind a bench pushing fruit flies, gallivanting around in the wilds of Canada or in the depths of thesis writing. It is the best way we can find to be curious about each other’s science without leaving our desks.  the Seeds of Science is our place to wonder about our department’s discoveries.
